The HP Deskjet 2635 is a so-called 3-in-1 printer. With the device you can print, scan and copy. It can be easily integrated into the network via WLAN or USB. The printer is also so compact that it can be stored in a very space-saving manner.
It is also compatible with HP Instant Ink, so Hewlett-Packard automatically sends new ink cartridges when the fill level is low. At about 7.5 ipm (pages per minute) in black and white and up to 5.5 ipm in color with standard quality on plain paper, progress is rather slow.
The black ink is pigmented, but not smudge resistant, and is only used on plain paper or other matte media. The three colors are water-based (dye ink) and can also be used on glossy paper.
The printer itself feeds up to 60 sheets of plain paper through the open, dust-free rear feed. Automatic double-sided printing is not possible due to the lack of a duplex unit. HP also prohibits borderless printing in its smallest multifunction printer.
This service does not have to be used, but can save up to 70% in price. The print resolution is very high at 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, so that the quality of the print leaves little to be desired.
With a print speed of 7.5 pages per minute in black and white and 5.5 pages per minute in color, the HP Deskjet 2635 is not the fastest device. However, this is more than sufficient for home use.
For private users, the quality of the print is usually more important than the print speed. The device can also be operated very easily via the keypad LCD display. It is a multifunctional inkjet without fax and intended for private use.
No separate ink cartridges are used, which means that the entire cartridge must be replaced as soon as a color runs out. It can print on A4 paper. This printer can be connected to the family network via WiFi. Thanks to WiFi, it is possible to print directly from a smartphone or tablet.
Monochrome LCD screen; no memory card reader. In addition, this HP Deskjet 2635 printer does not have NFC technology. This allows you to print documents and photos without being connected to the network.
Even in the lowest price segment, HP has not rationalized away the USB interface. It is still intended as a wired alternative to the wireless integration in the home network. With the latter it is at least possible to print from Airprint-compatible or Android-based mobile devices.
