The HP LaserJet Pro M148dw is a printer for tight workplaces with a fairly low print volume. It only needs a footprint of about 40 x 40 cm and is placed in the entry-level class. It is therefore not one of the fastest printers, nor is it particularly well equipped.
There’s even a separate button for missing copies/scans, which is perhaps surprising for an office printer. Aside from that, it’s an insider tip: the print image is above critical, regardless of the paper type used, and printing spins quietly and without annoying paper jams.
Paper Handling You can use B5, A6, A5 and A4 size paper for printing. Inside the multifunction device there is room for a paper supply of 260 pages – which is quite large. The duplex printing feature allows the HP LaserJet series to automatically print on both sides of a sheet.
This increases ease of use and helps to save paper. The HP LaserJet Pro M148dw does its job very quickly. The print speed is 28 pages/min in black and white. You can scan from the automatic document feeder (ADF) or the document glass.
The latter option is particularly recommended for bulky templates such as books or magazines. If, on the other hand, you want to digitize some documents as quickly as possible, the ADF is the best solution. According to the manufacturer, the scanning speed is up to 15 pages per minute in color and black and white.
The operation is also considered catchy if there were no unnecessary circumstances, such as the mandatory USB installation – even when using WLAN. It supports the WLAN standards IEEE 802.11b, IEEE 802.11g and IEEE 802.11n – the latter in particular guarantees fast data transfer.
Wireless printing via smartphone or tablet also works without any problems. The HP LaserJet Pro M148dw supports technologies such as HP ePrint, Apple AirPrint, or Google Cloud Print.
