This makes it much easier to digitize or copy multi-page documents. The printing itself does not exactly arouse enthusiasm, but is sufficient for everyday use. Speed and print quality are at the standard level. The paper compartment can hold about 300 sheets.
The paper supply therefore rarely needs to be refilled. This HP device convinced with its fast first pages after about 10 seconds from standby and the simple operation via the touch screen. A numeric keypad is not integrated.
If necessary and depending on the application, a virtual keyboard is displayed on the touch screen. Multifunction color laser devices are primarily designed to print as many pages as possible quickly in a way that conserves ink. The quality often suffers as a result.
Not so with the HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M479fdn. Both text and photo prints are excellent with no visible fading or banding. Especially with the standard settings and fine printing, the LaserJet cannot keep a piece of cake.
The same goes for the print speed: at 19.4 pages per minute, the HP is currently at the top of our list of best. However, the machine has problems with simple copies. The quality is certainly sufficient for everyday office life, but if you look very closely, the edges of the letters appear blurry.
The LaserJet applies a little too thick ink here. In any case, the copy times are convincing: after only 10 seconds a black-and-white copy and after only 13 seconds a graphic copy is in the output tray.
