The HP ENVY Photo 7155 is housed in a slim housing with a touchscreen in the control panel for direct entry of menu commands and function control directly on the device. An SD card slot for direct printing from compatible memory cards is hidden behind a flap on the left side of the printer body.
In addition to this printing option, the printer offers a USB and a WLAN interface. The latter can also be used to interact with mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets with the associated HP printing apps. Communication via the “Bluetooth Smart” standard is also possible.
The paper tray in the HP ENVY Photo 7155 holds 125 sheets of plain paper or 55 sheets of photo paper. Above the main paper template (also integrated in the cassette) is another template for 15 sheets of smaller photo sizes such as 10 x 15 cm or 13 x 18 cm.
Both templates can be selected as desired in the print settings. With this printer, it is not necessary to change the paper lock from large to small paper sizes and vice versa. In draft mode, the HP produces 17 A4 text pages or 15 office color pages on plain paper per minute when printing.
Text and images are easy to read in draft mode. We also liked the photo prints and the quality of the photo paper copies. This is where the HP ENVY Photo 7155’s scanner, printer and implementing internal software perform very well.
Photo paper can be printed borderless or copied borderless if required. With the integrated duplex unit, the user has the opportunity to save paper when printing documents on both sides.
Overall, this printer is a versatile printer for the home office. The device shows its strengths, especially when printing graphics and photos. A template for smaller photo sizes is integrated in the paper cassette.
