The HP OfficeJet 4650 from Hewlett Packard performs four functions at the same time: Office and private users can use the device not only to print in high resolution, but also to copy, scan and fax. This makes additional devices unnecessary and not only saves your wallet, but also creates space in the study.
With product dimensions of 48.6 x 43.8 x 22.8 centimeters, the device requires little space. The paper tray is extremely tight with a capacity of 100 sheets. In offices with several employees, paper changes are often necessary, even at relatively low print volumes.
Printing is done with ink from two cartridges, black and tri-colour. This is less practical because the color cartridge must always be completely replaced, even if not all three colors are used up.
However, paper can be saved thanks to automatic double-sided printing. Thanks to a resolution of 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, the HP delivers brilliant prints of documents and photos at high speed.
The device produces 9.5 pages per minute in black and white and 6.8 pages in color. HP OfficeJet 4650 is also reliable when copying. Color printing costs the same as black and white printing, although the color cartridges only last 330 pages.
The multifunctional device can be connected to the computer via the USB port or wirelessly via WLAN. Thanks to the wireless function and a user-friendly touchscreen on the top of the device, it is also possible to print from mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets without the intervention of a switched on computer.
In this case, the HP OfficeJet 4650 printer is operated with apps that must be installed on the end devices. Here ePrint, AirPrint and Wireless Direct are available, as well as Scan-To-Email for sending scanned documents over the Internet.
The printer can be connected to the network wirelessly via WLAN. Unfortunately there are no options for direct printing from USB or memory cards. The device accepts print jobs from the smartphone or tablet via Airprint or with the HP proprietary app.
