The HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 is a multifunctional device that can be used for scanning, faxing, copying and printing. The model uses inkjet technology. Positive are the relatively low acquisition costs and the generally very good quality of photo prints, while printing costs, lifespan and printing speed are worse compared to laser printers.
Devices of this type are therefore particularly suitable for private use. The printer is a laser printer with a 3in1 function. The power consumption of the device is slightly higher than average at 37 watts. You cannot just move the printer from one place to another because it is one of the heavier devices. In addition to the usual two-sided printing, the HP OfficeJet Pro 7740 offers a few other useful functions, such as photo printing, text printing and borderless printing. The printer even prints in A3 format and reaches a resolution of up to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi, which guarantees the printing of text and images with sufficient sharpness.
Up to 22 black and white prints are made every minute. That’s good speed. The printer can process up to 18 color pages in one minute. The paper input capacity is 250 sheets. The printer’s flatbed and ADF scanner has scan-to-email, scan-to-PC and scan-to-USB features and an optical resolution of 1200 x 1200 dpi.
Multi-page documents can be processed unattended as the automatic document feeder (ADF) can feed up to 35 sheets. When copying, a resolution of up to 600 x 600 dpi is achieved, which is an average value.
The interfaces such as Ethernet 10/100 and USB 2.0 and especially WLAN make it possible to share the printer in an office. Linux, Mac OS X, Windows 10, Windows 7, and Windows 8 operating systems are supported with HP OfficeJet Pro 7740.
Features such as Apple AirPrint, Google Cloud Print, HP ePrint, Mopria, and WiFi Direct are supported.
Due to the Wi-Fi Direct mode, which creates an ad hoc network, neither an existing network nor an Internet connection or a password is required.
