The HP OfficeJet Pro 8718 printer can compete with the most powerful multifunction devices in its model family. As with the colleagues in the series, the usage concept is based on the requirements of small companies and well-organized workgroups.
In addition to the inkjet color printing of demanding documents up to A4 format, scan, copy and fax functions are part of the competences of the all-in-one design. The version is designed for medium to high work volume.
If you want to print double-sided, a duplex scanner multifunctional printer is recommended. The HP OfficeJet Pro 8718 printer controls high print quality on both sides, the paper no longer needs to be changed.
Monochrome documents are printed in automatic duplex mode with a quality of 1,200 x 1,200 dpi and a speed of up to 22 pages per minute. Provided HP Advanced Photo Paper is used, the level of detail in color printing can be increased to 4,800 x 1,200 dpi using computers.
At the same time, the working speed drops to a maximum of 18 pages per minute. The use of pigmented inks has proven particularly useful when printing color documents and allows complex print images to be printed without smearing.
When scanning, the optical resolution reaches up to 1,200 dpi – the highest possible performance of eight black and white or the same number of color scans per minute can only be achieved with a lower quality of 200 dpi.
Finally, a resolution of up to 600 dpi is available for the copy function. Versatile connectivity allows mobile devices and cloud services to take control.
The HP OfficeJet Pro 8718 seems rather big and heavy for small and medium-sized offices, but it also has all the necessary functions and can print directly from Google Drive in addition to regular printing from the PC via WLAN, USB or LAN network.
The option to print from a Dropbox account might have been interesting here, but was left out. While the quick ID copy feature should be exciting for some offices, other users will appreciate the ability to quickly print an entire page of ID photos.
