The HP PageWide 352dw is the smallest of the HP business printers from the new PageWide series. The innovation of PageWide: although the printing technology works with ink, it no longer has much in common with classic inkjet printing.
PageWide printers work with a page-wide, fixed print head equipped with thousands of individual nozzles that pull pages down to print only once, rather than moving across the sheet multiple times.
An efficiency that saves a lot of time – and makes the printer faster than any comparable office jet. HP distinguishes between the office mode (“General Office”) and the model according to the ISO standard, where the quality of the office mode is clearly above the draft mode in our opinion.
Font and color saturation are absolutely sufficient for everything that happens daily in the office. The manufacturer promises 45 pages per minute here – and has not exaggerated. With the introduction of the HP PageWide 352dw printer, HP says it has also improved the inks: this should mainly benefit the smudge resistance.
That would be desirable, after all, the pages come out of the printer very quickly – it is easy for the font to smear when the next page is output. And here we can make it completely clear: the ink dries quickly, we get every sheet dry from the printer despite the high throughput.
The print itself looks good, the texts are accurate in the overall picture, despite the slightly fibrous contours. The typical HP pigment inks make the colors a little darker, but at the same time ensure a rich color application and a coherent overall image.
USB, Cable and WLAN, Ethernet and Wireless Direct – HP has equipped this printer with everything that makes it easy to operate and network-compatible. Android and iOS device users can also operate it directly on their mobile devices via Apple AirPrint, HP ePrint, and Google CloudPrint. By dispensing with the usual MFP options, the manufacturer has also limited the screen to a diagonal of 5.1 cm – not lavish, but more than sufficient in terms of applications.
All in all, the HP PageWide 352dw is a workhorse that outputs quickly, reliably and in high quality. Maybe that’s why it’s listed under the “Fighter” product category at HP!
The device is recommended for small businesses and workgroups with a print volume of around 3000 pages per month and is in good hands there.
